Description

Embark on our Alpine Trail Day Trip for the ultimate adventure through Seward's stunning fjord, Resurrection Bay, where the beauty of land and water converge. A half-hour boat ride from the Seward Harbor to a remote coastal trailhead showcases the wonders of this magical place. Keep an eye out for harbor seals, sea otters, bald eagles, and more as we cruise the coastline. From the rocky beach, we'll hike through a fairytale spruce forest with moss-decorated giants, and after breaking tree-line, gaze out over the barrier islands at the head of the bay and beyond!

Itinerary

Our adventure starts at our shop, conveniently located in downtown Seward. Meet your guide in the morning, and make sure you have everything you need for the day!

Once we're all suited and booted, we will drive down to the small boat harbor to meet the water taxi. Once aboard, we will cruise the coastline of Resurrection Bay to the remote beach trailhead.

Our hike climbs (gradually at first, then steeply!) through the coastal temperate rainforest, into the high alpine. Enjoy towering Sitka Spruce trees covered in moss, and if weather permitting, expansive views of the fjord from the alpine.

After we've enjoyed the views, some lunch, and hot coco, we will hike back down to the beach, meet the water taxi, and bring you back to the shop where the adventure began!

We work with a knowledgeable local captain who runs a small, 6-passenger landing craft. The exact route for the boat tour will be determined by sea conditions, but will include some sightseeing en route. The captain will keep an eye out for wildlife along the way and show you the highlights of our incredible fjord country.
It is very unlikely that you will feel seasick, as we are in the projected waters of the fjord for the entire water taxi ride. The boat tours from Seward that leave the bay and enter the Gulf of Alaska experience much bigger swell (and thus have a greater potential for motion sickness).
Cancelations more than 30 days prior to scheduled trip, will receive a full refund, minus a $10 per person booking fee. Cancelations 15-30 days prior to scheduled trip, will be charged 20% of the total invoice. Cancelations 8-14 days prior to scheduled trip, will be charged 50% of the total invoice.
